The Veredus Carbon Gel Absolute Fetlock Boots in Black represent a new standard in performance leg protection, engineered by Italy’s leading specialists in equine sport technology.
Featuring a completely redefined anatomical shell, these boots are shaped to follow the natural contours of the horse’s limbs, ensuring a secure fit that avoids pressure points and allows full freedom of movement.
The outer shell is made from robust Bayer polyurethane - a high-performance material known for its durability, flexibility, and resistance to extreme temperatures. Beneath it lies a reinforced insert made from anti-shock carbon and Nitrexgel, which is five times denser than the shell to provide exceptional impact absorption.
This innovative shell and insert are fused into a single seamless unit without glue or stitching, creating a flexible, ultra-protective design built for long-term use. The carbon and gel protective surface is also broader than previous Veredus models, extending coverage for added safety.
To help maintain optimal tendon condition, the boots incorporate a dual ventilation system. Heat is drawn away from the leg via an AEROX micro-perforated neoprene layer and channeled through a 3D mesh ducted fabric, allowing it to escape efficiently through strategically placed air vents.
Ideal for top-level training and competition, these fetlock boots combine cutting-edge protection with advanced thermoregulation to support peak performance.
These boots are certified with the rigorous and authoritative procedures of Ricotest.
The test was carried out by subjecting the Carbon Gel Absolute to impact and abrasion tests simulating the impacts of the rear horseshoe on the flexor tendon area and of the adjacent horseshoe on the fetlock area.
THE IMPACT TEST
The impact test is used to verify the impact resistance and absorption capacity of the materials.
Two differently shaped tools were used for the impact test: a 60 ° V-wedge and a hemisphere. The applied energy was 25 and 50 joules, the same that is used in tests for motorcyclists' back protectors.
THE ABRASION TEST
The abrasion test was done by placing a portion of the shell on a sandpaper roll using the same type of test that is done on safety materials. To pass this test, the material loss must be less than 150 cubic mm. In the case of Carbon Gel Absolute, the volume loss was 29 cubic mm, five times less than the minimum requirement!
THE MATERIALS
The materials were also analysed from a chemical point of view, verifying the absence of potentially harmful compounds such as phthalates.
Quick release tipped elastic straps with a choice of four pre-set closure positions makes the boots extremely practical to put on and remove, and allow them to fit a range of different leg shapes.
The Veredus Carbon Gel Absolute Fetlock Boots are available in Black or Brown, sizes Medium (Full) or Large (Extra Full).
