The Beris Autopilot is an innovative new cheek piece that is designed to position the mouthpiece automatically in the horse's mouth in a way that applies only the lowest pressure to the tongue and jaw.
Autopilot cheeks
As anatomy of the horse's mouth varies, as well as preferences as to the position of the mouthpiece, this bit means that the horse can choose the most comfortable position for himself.
When the reins are used, pressure is increased on the tongue and jaw, but the mouthpiece remains stable in the position the horse prefers.
Ported Mouthpiece
This bit fits the horse's mouth anatomically so it sits in the perfect position. The flattened area on the port allows plenty of space for the horse's tongue. As a result, many horses respond with increased relaxation and chewing.
This bit is often suitable for horses with a soft mouth that don't like complicated mouthpieces and that won't tolerate tongue pressure and react by headshaking.
This bit is also a good choice for those that tend to put their tongue over the bit. The port helps to prevent this be removing the central tongue pressure.
The Autopilot bit is recommended for horses:
- that appreciate permanent tongue relief
- that prefer a more mobile bit in the mouth
- that do not like too much poll pressure
- that tend to become excitable with a sensitive mouth.
The bit comes with bit rubbers to prevent pinching and curb hooks.
The Beris Autopilot Pelham is available with short shanks (13cm total, 4cm below the mouth) in 13cm or 14cm with a soft or a hard mouthpiece. It comes with a nylon curb strap.
