Just like humans, horses sweat to maintain their body temperature. However, they have more muscle mass and a relatively small skin surface compared to us, making it more difficult for them to cool down.
It is essential that a sweating horse is cooled down properly to prevent muscle soreness and permanent damage to the body.
Adding Cavalor Cool Sens to cold or lukewarm water when washing down your horse on a warm day or after heavy effort will increase and prolong the cooling process. It dries quickly and leaves a brilliant shine, too.
Ingredients
Cavalor Cool Sens contains essential oils such as menthol, eucalyptus radiata and tea tree oil.
Menthol and eucalyptus have an effect on the sensory nerves by stimulating those that produce a cool, soothing sensation to refresh tired, aching legs. They also inhibit a specific pain receptor, making them an effective topical analgesic.
Menthol can also help to speed up healing by dilating the blood vessels. This increases blood flow to the affected area, which is an important factor in alleviating muscle and joint soreness.
Cool Sens has a neutral pH and will not irritate the skin. It also contains tea tree oil, making it ideal for treating minor abrasions.
Directions For Use
Dilute Cavalor Cool Sens with cool water to the desired concentration. Apply to the horse’s body with a sponge, focusing on the back and legs. Do not rinse the horse, simply use a sweat scraper until he is no longer dripping water.
