These hind boots feature a Kevlar protective layer. This synthetic material is lightweight, impact resistant, hard wearing and five times stronger than steel. It is the same material that is used in bulletproof vests, so you can rest assured that your horse's legs are well protected!
Further protection is offered by nitrexgel shock absorber film.
The man-made techno sheepskin helps to prevent rubbing on sensitive-skinned horses, and offers a number of advantages over real sheepskin:
- it can be washed and dried easily, while real lambskin requires considerable, lengthy maintenance
- trapped sand is released easily from the loose, wide knit which reduces the risk of abrasions to the horse's leg
- it is more comfortable and a closer fit than natural sheepskin
- it stays looking good for longer, while real lambskin can dry out, become stiff and turn yellow.
Double ventilation is provided by the air inlet and 3D mash ducted fabric, that directs warm air away from the horse's legs, thus helping to keep them cool during exercise.
The boots are finished with a double Velcro fastening.
